You Need to See Prince's Junior High School Basketball Photo

#TBT came early this week with a real gem of a vintage photo. Libor Jany, a reporter for Minneapolis's Star Tribune, dug up an old photo of Prince from his junior high basketball days.

And it's pretty amazing. Just check out that hair!

Jany also tweeted this newspaper clip, which cites that Prince — long before he began his explosive career crooning super sexed-up R&B jams — was a stellar basketball player, even though he was on the shorter side.

So, yeah, he might have been unhappy that he wasn't a starter, but just like the reporter said in the above clip, "music was his calling." And judging by the way his career has been going for the past few decades, we're pretty sure things worked out all right for him in the end.
