70,000 fans and two football teams will battle a historic snow event
The perfect setup is developing over Lake Erie to manifest a multi-day squall event, which will deliver more than 100 cm of snow -- potentially as high as 150 cm -- to the hardest-hit areas.
Unfortunately for football fans, the bull's-eye for the snow is looking to be centred over Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, N.Y.
Lake Erie is sitting at the warmest temperature on record heading into the second half of November. This warmth will fuel the potent squalls as Arctic air camps out over the Great Lakes for nearly a week.

It’s been eight years since 150 cm of snow shut down the city of Buffalo, N.Y., forcing a football game to relocate to the other end of Lake Erie -- in Detroit, Mich.
Seventy-thousand fans will flock to the Buffalo area to see the Bills play the Cleveland Browns on Sunday afternoon. The three-hour drive from Cleveland, Ohio, will be especially treacherous with 20-40 cm expected for the majority of the route.

Canadian fans from the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) will have their own share of lake-effect snow prior to the weekend. Easier weekend travel around Lake Ontario may result in a rude surprise as fans near Lake Erie and the U.S. border.
