Rapist jailed after attack on partner with police saying details 'too sickening to share'
A rapist whose offences against his teenage partner were “too sickening to share” has been jailed for 13 years.
Carlos Cope, 24, was found guilty of rape and assault after a week-long trial and sentenced at Warwick Crown Court on Friday.
Police said the victim had been “defiled in the most humiliating way”.
Cope, from Coventry, was also given a restraining order preventing him from contacting the victim or her sister and will remain on the sex offenders register for life.

Cope had been in a relationship with the woman, but his behaviour became controlling to the point where he was managing her finances and questioning who she was seeing, the court heard.
He began using her money to buy drugs and checking her phone to see who she’d been in contact with.
The situation came to a head in June last year when Cope became violent towards the young woman and her sister, jurors were told.
He punched her and dragged her along the floor by her hair and although police were called, she decided not to take the matter further, the court heard.
The following month Cope launched his most brutal and disturbing attack when he punched her, bit her arms and repeatedly smashed a lamp on her head after checking her texts, jurors heard.

Investigating officer, DC Jonathan Barker, from West Midlands Police Public Protection Unit, said: “The details of the attack are too sickening to share.
“It is enough to say the young woman was defiled in the most humiliating way.
“I applaud her bravery in bringing this prosecution and ensuring that other women are safe from Cope for some years to come.”
Police forces in England and Wales recorded the highest number of rapes and sexual offences in a 12-month period in the year to September.
The proportion of suspects being taken to court fell to a new record low and remains the lowest for rape cases.
