Date not going well? If you're worried about leaving, just ask for Angela

There’s a whole range of reasons why a date could be a dud, not all of them overtly sinister.

But when things aren’t going well and you’d like to make your escape, doing so isn’t always easy - at times, it can feel downright intimidating.

Lincolnshire Rape Crisis launched a campaign to help girls escape unsuccessful dates without feeling worried, asking anyone who’s feeling unsafe to go to the bar and “ask for Angela”.

And since Isobel O'Brien spotted a campaign poster on the back of a toilet door and posted a picture of it on Twitter, it’s gone viral.

So far more than 20,000 people have re-tweeted the image, and over 28,000 have liked it.

This isn’t the first time a campaign like this has attracted media attention, however.

The Brickyard pub in St Albans, Herts, won headlines back in April, though their tone was a touch more frivolous.

Their poster asked “Tinder date gone wrong? Doesn’t look like his picture, or just plain weird?” before advising women to go to the bar and ask for Rachelle or Jennifer.

Think we prefer Angela.
