Hero Dies Protecting Woman By Diving Into Hail Of Bullets During Paris Attacks

A man has been labelled a hero after he bravely dived in front of a hail of bullets to protect a woman during last week’s terrorist attacks in Paris.

Ludovic Boumbas thought nothing of his own safety when gunmen stormed into La Belle Equipe and opened fire on the guests inside.

The 40-year-old, who grew up in Lille, France, took a bullet for the woman before launching himself at the fanatic, according to eyewitnesses.

Mr Boumbas died as a result of his injuries but the woman he protected is now recovering in hospital.

A friend of Mr Boumbas said that he “loved people” and described him as a “hero”.

They told MailOnline: “Ludo threw himself forward to protect a girl and took the bullet.

"She was also shot, but she survived and is in hospital.

"He loved travelling the world and above all he loved people.

“He was just one of life’s good, good people. He didn’t stand a chance.”

Mr Boumbas was among the 19 people killed inside the bar, where revellers were celebrating the birthday of waitress Houda Saadi.
