In photos: Solar Eclipse 2024 across North America

The day Canadians have marked on their calendars has finally come, as cities across the country get ready to witness a total solar eclipse for the first time in decades. As the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth, the April 8, 2024 eclipse will bring darkness to various parts across the country for several minutes.

From a group attempting to break a world record at Niagara Falls for most people dressed as the sun to various events dotting the entire span of the eclipse's path of totality, North Americans are ready to mark this rare celestial event.

Here are some snapshots of the eclipse stretching across North America from Mexico to Canada.
