Mariah Carey's rep responds to reports that the singer and fiancé James Packer have split
Mariah Carey seems to be on shaky terms with her fiancé James Packer. The singer's representative addressed numerous reports of a split this week by confirming that the pair hasn't seen each other since last month.
The spokesperson told Entertainment Tonight that Mariah and James had an argument during their holiday in Greece in September, adding: "The fight was not because of any cheating allegations or excessive spending by Mariah. James is one of the most successful businessmen in the world.

"They are trying to work it out. Right now, they are not sure if they will stay together. They are discussing it, and plan to release an official statement together about their future."
Australian billionaire James, 49, popped the question to Mariah with a 35-carat diamond engagement ring in her hometown of New York in January, just months after they went public with their romance in September.
But this week it was reported that the couple had called time on their romance – and already the issue has become a battle of he-said she-said.

A source close to James told People: "James is all about business and making money. Some of Mariah's eccentric ways, especially her spending habits, caused drama."
A source from Mariah's camp countered: "James has not been in a mentally healthy place and has not been present for Mariah or her family. His behaviour was not a desirable situation for Mariah so unfortunately she had to leave him."

But another insider close to the businessman said it is "typical Mariah to just twist things that don't sound good to her. They split because she has issues. James is definitely an oddball, but a brilliant great guy. To put her issues on James is ridiculous".
Mariah and James were last photographed together in Mykonos, Greece in late September. And despite her rep's claims that the pair are trying to "work it out," the source close to James has insisted they "definitely won't be getting back together now."
