Melissa Joan Hart makes history with $1 million win on 'Celebrity Wheel of Fortune'

Melissa Joan Hart made history — and won lots of money for a good cause — during Sunday’s Celebrity Wheel of Fortune. The star of Clarissa Explains It All and Sabrina the Teenage Witch played for the charity Youth Villages.

“They serve families and children across 23 different states in every kind of level, going through foster care and aging out of foster care especially,” Hart explained.

Hart solved the bonus puzzle, which was ‘bran muffins.’ Her million-dollar bonus was the first time a celebrity has won the grand prize during the primetime spin-off of the popular syndicated game show. It was only the fourth time in franchise history that a contestant won $1 million, with the last occurrence being in September 2014.

Fans were excited to see Hart become the first celebrity to win big, especially since it was going to a good cause. However, no one was as excited or more shocked as Hart herself.

“I'm still shaking,” Hart said afterwards. “Bran muffins. I'm gonna have to eat one tomorrow, I guess. I'm gonna buy stock in it or something.”

The million dollars was added to her other winnings in the game for a grand total of $1,039,800.

Celebrity Wheel of Fortune airs Sundays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
