OPP catch Oakville teen driving almost as fast as a Boeing 737
A teenager was caught driving 218 km/h on Highway 400 in Toronto, early Tuesday morning, announced the Ontario Provincial Police.
The 19-year-old from Oakville, Ont. was in a 100/km zone, but that didn’t stop him from almost reaching the speed of a Boeing 737 at takeoff, notes Sergeant Kerry Schmidt of the OPP.

The teenager was charged with careless driving and stunt driving, which is also known as street racing.
The driver was behind the wheel of an Audi TT, when he and another passenger were pulled over by OPP southbound near Finch at around 1 a.m.
“If he would have lost control, it would have been a fatal situation,” said Schmidt to Yahoo Canada News.
Five other drivers were also pulled over by the OPP, after they were caught driving north of 160 km/h. They were all charged with careless driving, while all six drivers had their licenses suspended and cars impounded for seven days.
If they’re found guilty in court, all six drivers could face penalties of up to $10,000, said Schmidt.
There were no cases of impaired driving.
