Teen girl sexually assaulted in her bedroom by stranger, Toronto police say

Boy, 13, charged in 3 sidewalk sex assaults near Don Mills and Sheppard

Toronto police are looking for a man they say sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl in her bedroom Thursday morning.

"The young woman was woken up to being sexually assaulted" in her home in the Rogers Road and Oakwood Avenue area, Const. Victor Kwong told CBC News. "It was a complete stranger. Because of that, we don't know if it was targeted."

Const. David Hopkinson told CBC News the girl awoke to the sound of footsteps, then felt someone touching her. She opened her eyes to see a stranger sitting on her bed.

They said the 15-year-old asked him to leave and he "fled the home."

Hopkinson said the teen's parents contacted police after the girl told them what happened. But he could not say whether her parents were home at the time of the assault.

The girl was taken to hospital and examined, but Hopkinson could not say if she was injured.

The suspect is described as black with a fair complexion, between the ages of 25 and 30 years old, standing five-feet-nine inches tall, with a medium build, moustache and beard. Police say he was wearing a grey T-shirt, with tight, dark jeans, and a black hat.

Police are asking area residents to be vigilant, and to keep an eye out for the man.

Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact police at 416-808-7474 or Crime Stoppers at 416-222-TIPS.
