Tom Brady admits he 'was not thinking' when he tossed the Lombardi Trophy to another boat

Tom Brady appeared Tuesday on The Late Late Show With James Corden for his first interview since the infamous Super Bowl boat parade. To celebrate the Tampa Bay Buccaneers championship, the players gathered on boats for a parade down the Hillsborough River. During the event, Brady threw the coveted Lombardi Trophy to the trailing boat occupied by tight ends Rob Gronkowksi and Cameron Brate.

"First of all, I was not thinking at that moment,” Brady said. “It was not a thought. It was, 'This seems really fun to do.'"

Fortunately, Brate managed to catch the 2-foot tall, sterling silver trophy before it fell in the water.

"I found out later, had that been an incomplete pass, that would have went down like 80 feet," Brady said. "So, I'm so happy to Cam."

The event was recorded by several people, and just as Brady throws the trophy someone can be screaming, 'No!' Brady revealed that it was his daughter, Vivian.

"Who could imagine that an 8-year-old girl would have the most sense of anybody in that whole area?" Brady said. "I mean, she's the voice of reason. Go figure. I gotta say it was really cute."

The Late Late Show With James Corden airs weeknights at 12:37 a.m. on CBS.
