Twitter reacts to Justin Trudeau being heckled at Young Workers’ Summit

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was greeted with hostility from some attendants of the Young Workers’ Summit on Tuesday morning.

Frustration over precarious work and the Trans Pacific trade deal was top of mind for many of the young labour activists, the Canadian Press reported, leading some to turn their backs on the prime minister.

Another delegate raised concerns for the thousands of federal workers waiting on paycheques after the Phoenix payroll system malfunctioned.

The fiery demonstrations were praised on social media by fellow attendants, some of whom chastised the PM for his reaction.

But not all in attendance were happy with the demonstration, preferring to take a more collegial tone.

The demonstration caught the attention of people beyond the summit, some of whom noted this could mark a changed attitude toward Trudeau.
