Zooey Deschanel and Ellen Shame Airline for New Baby Policy

Zooey Deschanel, New Girl star and mother of a 14-month-old girl, visited Ellen on Monday and talked about one of the many challenges of being the parent of a young child, a challenge that is supposed to come with at least one perk. The challenge, in this case, is traveling, and the perk she was expecting was that when flying, she and her baby would get to board the plane first. But apparently, that policy no longer flies at American Airlines, and host Ellen DeGeneres was set on shaming the airline.

Deschanel said that she had been waiting in line for a plane recently, and that it was time for early boarding. She had imagined that the fact that she was holding a baby was her ticket to board ahead of the other passengers. Unfortunately for her, she was turned back, because other passengers had paid a lot of money to board first.

DeGeneres immediately asked her guest to name the airline, to be able to shame the company on the air, but Deschanel wasn’t so quick to cough it up. After being asked what the name of the airline rhymed with, she said, “Bamerican.” So the two of them publicly shamed “Bamerican Airlines” for its policy on babies and boarding.

DeGeneres then noted that American Airlines is the official airline of the show.
