Doubles team at Wimbledon refuses to play after controversial Hawkeye line call

A doubles match was delayed Wednesday at Wimbledon when the top-seeded team of the USA's Rajeev Ram and Great Britain's Joe Salisbury refused to continue until the Hawkeye replay system was turned off.

The contested point came with the score 5-5 in the second set of their match against 12th-seeded Nicolas Mahut and Edouard Roger-Vasselin of France.

Ram and Salisbury thought they had won a key service break when a shot was ruled out, but the call was reversed after their opponents challenged.

"No way man! That is absolutely ridiculous," Ram shouted at chair umpire Fergus Murphy. "There's no way. No way at all. We're turning the machine off. We're not in the future here man."

An umpire supervisor eventually arrived at the court, and after informing Ram and Salisbury that the issue would be investigated, ordered them to resume play.

The two-time Grand Slam champions eventually lost the second set in a tiebreaker, but rallied to win the match in five sets and advance to the men's semifinals.
