Kim Kardashian took to Instagram yesterday (24 January 2022) to express her deep sadness at the passing of the iconic fashion designer, Manfred Thierry Mugler. A close friend and collaborator, the French designer, 73, passed away from natural causes on the 23rd January 2022 according to his representatives.

Mugler was behind some of Kim Kardashian’s most famous looks including that incredible dripping wet 2019 Met Gala look. The pair often collaborated together and Kim was known to be one of his muses.

Uploading a carousel of images, Kim expressed her heartbreak at losing the fashion titan.

“Manfred Thierry Mugler My heart breaks,” Kim wrote. “There’s no one like you! Your vision, your transformations, your magic!”

“I am so honored to have known you, spent time with you and be a muse for you,' Kim continued. “There was so much more for you to show the world and that we had planned to do together, but you already gave us so much.”

“I will never forget our time together around the world and learning from the master himself on what couture really meant!

“You always said beauty will save the world - and you really believed it was a better place because of the beauty all around! Thank you for the beauty.

“I love you so much. My condolences go to Manfred’s family, friends, JB and his incredible team - and everyone who loved him and whose lives he has touched,” she concluded.

Mugler became known for his glamorous, high-voltage, sculptural designs. Retiring from his own label in 2002, he continued to work with the world’s A-listers including the likes of Beyoncé, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion and Lady Gaga.
