Lizzo Performed Kylie Jenner's "Rise and Shine" in Concert
By now, you’ve probably heard Kylie Jenner’s sweet wake-up song to daughter Stormi that shook the internet to its core. Nearly overnight, Kylie’s “Rise and Shine” became both a meme and cultural moment — there’s even merch!
But it’s not just the internet who fell in love with the 22-year-old’s melodic three-word tune; Ariana Grande wants to sample it in her own music, and other celebs shared their own renditions on social media throughout the weekend.
As noted by fans on social media, Lizzo performed a cover of “Rise and Shine” during her Pasadena, California concert this weekend — flute included — much to the delight of audience members. “Queen @lizzo singing #RiseAndShine is high art,” one fan noted — and she’s definitely not wrong.
And Lizzo wasn’t alone; Miley Cyrus and Cody Simpson also released their own version of the song, turning “Rise and Shine” into a sweet duet. “Your new alarm clock,” Miley declared on Instagram. TBH, I would definitely set this as my alarm.
We’ll have to wait and see which other celebs get in on the viral moment — or if Ariana ends up putting the tune in a future single. Either way, we have a feeling “Rise and Shine” isn’t going anywhere, and we’ll be hearing about it for a long, long time.
