British humor is already rubbing off on Prince William and Kate Middleton’s kids, Prince George, 7, Princess Charlotte, 5, and Prince Louis, 2. William candidly discussed his young children in Prince William: A Planet for Us. Entertainment Tonight released an exclusive clip from the documentary.
In the clip, a young girl spoke to William about his children. “Is Princess Charlotte cheekier than Prince George?” she asked while he was visiting a Liverpool school. “No, they’re about as cheekier as each other,” he responded, smiling.
It’s not surprising that little Charlotte and George have their cheeky moments (meanwhile, Louis just minds his business). Sources close to the royal family have admitted that Charlotte already knows she’s a royal, even at the young age of 5. “Charlotte knows she’s a princess and already has a toy tiara, which she loves wearing,” an insider told Us Weekly.
Despite William and Kate raising children of royal lineage, they want their children to have a sense of normalcy while they’re young. According to the insider, they “go out of their way to keep the kids grounded.” The source added, “While the kids know there’s something special about them, they’re not spoiled.”
Of course, they might have their hands full with little Charlotte. A source explained to Us Weekly earlier this year that “she feels so grown up” after turning 5. “She likes to pick out her own outfits with Kate’s help, and if she doesn’t like a dress she’s wearing, she makes her feelings known,” the insider said. “She doesn’t feel intimidated in front of crowds of people, unlike most kids her age.”
