Shakira And Piqué Once Had A 'Visual Love Connection,' Says Body Language Expert

Ahem, if you’re not chronically online like myself (in which case, good for you), let me update you on the drama surrounding Colombian pop star Shakira, 46, and Spanish former pro soccer player Gerard Piqué, 36. After news surfaced in January 2023 that the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer allegedly found out that Gerard, most commonly known by his last name, Piqué, was cheating because of, get this, a jar of jam, things have gotten rather, uh, sticky for these two.

For starters, the Laundry Service singer-songwriter released a scathing diss track titled “BZRP Music Sessions #53” in which she takes aim at the former FC Barcelona player and his new girlfriend, Clara Chia Martí, 23. The song includes lyrics such as, “A she-wolf like me isn’t for guys like you / I was out of your league, that’s why you’re / With someone just like you” and “I’m worth two 22-year-olds / You traded in a Ferrari for a Twingo / You traded in a Rolex for a Casio.”

Oh, and that’s not all. Following the song’s release, Shakira reportedly put up a life-size witch doll on the balcony of her home in Spain, which faces her ex mother-in-law’s house. Local residents said to have heard the “Whenever, Wherever,” crooner blasting the new song at full volume throughout the day, per the Daily Mail. Apparently, their relationship has turned sour after Piqué’s mother happily welcomed his new relationship with Chia Martí.

More recently, Piqué and his new girlfriend were allegedly refused service at a restaurant by the eatery’s owner, who is presumably Team Shakira. Meanwhile, Shakira posted a Valentine’s Day lip sync video to SZA’s “Kill Bill” that quickly went viral. She also released a new song, “TQG” (an acronym for the saying, “te quedó grande,” which, in English, roughly translates to “too big for you”), with fellow Colombian singer-songwriter Karol G. The single is quickly becoming a female empowerment anthem with lyrics like, “I forgot everything that we lived / And that’s what got you so offended / Even my life got better / You’re no longer welcome here.”
