It may look pretty unassuming, but this 2,670 square-foot home just sold for $1.1 million.

The home, located in the Toronto suburb of Vaughan, drew a flurry of bids when it was listed at $699,900 last week, according to the Toronto Star.

Two open houses were held last weekend and were so busy visitors reportedly lost their shoes at the entranceway.

What’s even more remarkable, however, is that the home hasn’t undergone any substantial renovations or updates since it was built in 1984.

“I purposely put it for sale without renovating or painting it,” agent Steve Atsaves of Royal LePage Grange Hall Realty told The Star.

“If you renovate or paint it, we’re going to go into the spring market by the time we put it up, and then we’re going to have a lot more competition as well and the risk of the market turning.”

The winter market is traditionally much slower, making it an ideal time to list the home in Toronto’s hot real estate market without much competition.

“That’s the product I wanted to sell, a house that needs reno: paint it yourself, choose your colours, choose your own floors,” said Atsaves. “That’s the product we put out there. We did not try to make it look pretty.”
